Napoleon Bonaparte is one of the most famous historical figures, who had an overwhelming impact on the trajectory of nineteenth-century France. But there are some lesser known aspects of the French leader, which you can read below.

Undoubtedly, Napoleon Bonaparte was a prominent figure in the history of France. During the rule of the French Empire, between 1804 and 1815, this nation experienced one of the most effervescent periods of development, but also had a long series of wars for economic supremacy. However, there are some aspects related to the great leader that are not known to the general public.

Napoleon Bonaparte or Napoleone di Buonaparte, as the leader is also known, was born in Corsica, exactly one year after the island was captured by France from the Italians. For this reason, he spoke French with a certain Corsican accent, which caused him great headaches and teasing during school. As a young man, he showed brilliant intelligence, so at the age of 16 he had only graduated from military school and at the age of 24 he was already a brigadier general.

He is known in history as a great leader, but he is also famous for his petite stature. Bonaparte was only 1.68 cm tall, but this did not stop him from leading one of the strongest nations in the world. Although he had desires demonstrated by the politician, it is less known that the emperor also wrote a short love novel. It’s called “Clisson et Eugénie”, it has only 17 pages, but it shows the sentimental and in love part of a Napoleon who was only 26 years old, the age at which he wrote the work.

One of the greatest achievements of the emperor is the establishment of the “Napoleonic code” (Napoleon’s Code) or “Code civil des Français”. This civil code was later taken over by many states of the world and provided for an increased attribution to the paternal figure in the sense that it received quite extensive powers and prerogatives over the entire home.

Of course, there are many legends about his personal life, and his passing into non-existence remains a mystery, but nevertheless, Napoleon Bonaparte remains one of the leading figures in universal history. Although considered a dictator, Napoleon I can be described as an extremely ambitious and skilled leader, a military genius for whom nothing was ever enough.
